Exercise Endurance

Athletes show 40% increase in
exercise endurance

Incremental test to exhaustion during cycling exercise from 65-85% of maximum exertion in 4 subjects ingesting placebo and MELT3TM tocotrienols (40mg/d) for 3 weeks, with a washout-period of 4 days between treatments. Exercise tests were conducted at the end of each 3 week period of supplementation.

Muscle soreness post-exercise

90% reduction (day one) /
100% reduction (day two)

Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) on visual analogue scale 1 and 2 days after eccentric forearm contraction.

Anecdotal Evidence

Soccer Players

Two soccer players were assessed by the team occupational therapist to have muscle soreness in their thighs and legs from over-exercise and were ordered to rest prior to reassessment.

The two people were administered a single 40mg of NE1-Elite® dose daily for a week.

The soreness, in their words, “disappeared” and they were reassessed by the occupational therapists and deemed to be fit for training.

They also observed that they had no DOMS after training whereas previously they observed significant DOMS regularly.

Bike Riders

Two serious recreational bike riders (both cycle at least about 100 kilometres per week) were administered single 40mg daily doses of NE1-Elite® for two weeks prior to a 180 km bike race.

These two riders have competed in this road race for the last ten years.  Each time, on completion, their thigh and leg muscles were sore the day after the ride.

After administration of NE1-Elite® the two cyclists reported slight stiffness in their leg muscles 24 hours after the race and no detectable soreness or stiffness 48 hours after the race.  In fact, one of the cyclists trained in the gym the day after.

Netball Players

Two competitive netball players were administered single 40mg daily doses of NE1-Elite® for two weeks.

These two players experienced significant DOMS after weight training in the gym and after a competitive match prior to administration of NE1-Elite®.

Both players reported feeling no DOMS after training in the gym or a competition game.
